Biography:
Barbara's passion for Adult Learning is reflected in her dual roles at Lesley, where she oversees the unique Learning Community Bachelor's program as well as the Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a specialization in Adult Learning.
Barbara says, "LCB allows students to really follow their heart because they create their own major and their own study plan. Since they drive the learning process, LCB students pursue something that is personally and professionally meaningful."
Barbara's expertise in Adult Learning led her to help develop the Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a specialization in Adult Learning program. "This program focuses on increasing the knowledge base of those who work with adult learners and preparing future leaders in the field of adult and continuing education."
Barbara has been teaching adults at Lesley for the past 17 years, and values the important role that experience plays in learning. She is passionate about the need for working adults to recover silenced voices, uncover new parts of themselves, and discover new areas of knowledge.
