MFA in Visual Arts student Alison Williams, who will be graduating in the upcoming June residency, has been named as a recipient of the prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation 2009 MFA Grant. The grant is awarded to 10 - 15 graduating MFA students in painting and sculpture nationwide who have been nominated by their institutions. The purpose of the award is to further the recipients' artistic careers and their transition from academic to studio work.

Amanda Nelsen, who graduated in January 2008, received a 2008 Joan Mitchell Foundation MFA Grant.
